KVLT - MOOER PE100 - Eurorack - total conversion - kit
£40.00
Kvlt is a kit to convert a Mooer PE100 multi fx processor (not included) into a eurorack compatible guitar pre amp and multi fx processor. Based on what i've used so far, this build is by far the best solution i've used for running guitars into a eurorack rig.
It's a fairly simple build that i've attempted to make as friendly for n00bs as it will be a cakewalk for soldering veterans. The board is mostly smt, with all of the smt pre soldered. The parts count placed by the builder is tiny and consist of four capacitors, a couple of diodes, a voltage regulator and three thonkicon sockets.
Some drilling is required to secure the panel to the pe100, but this isn't particularly hard to do and a cordless drill is sufficent to complete the task. The video build guide lists all tools requitred for the job.
The finished module measures in at 28 hp. This might seem like a lot if you're thinking 'a distortion', but it's a lot more than just a distortion. It's a pretty good fx processor for the price with some phenomenal distortion settings available to it. Equally as good for running vcos and vocals etc through as it is for shredding the axe.
The kit ships with all the parts and cut to length wires that you'll need to populate the circuit and mount it all on the pe100. it also ships with a paper guide that skims through the essentials. This lets pros skip most of the wiring parts of the video guide. The video guide itself walks through the whole mod step by step, from pe100 disassembly to kvlt final assembly. . .
If you're into a mix of guitars and synths then kvlt is an absolute killer to have in your rack. Just plug a guitar in, dial up some fx in the pe100 or route it to other modules for the full spectrum of the bizarre. No need for a guitar preamp, outboard amp and fx processor et al.
In terms of what it does and how well it does it the whole thing is pretty impressive when the price is considered. PE100s can be picked up for cheap. I recommend aliexpress, where they can be picked up for as little as £45 brand new.
If building this thing isn't something you can or want to do, but you want one, i have complete and tested units listed elsewhere in the shop (when in stock). . .
Ships tracked and signed. Discount on shipping if multiple kits are purchased or are purchased with other itrems..
Below is the video build guide, which also serves as an audio demo of some of what the kvlt can sound like in a synth/guitar set up (based on my fairly limited guitar playing skills) :)
